Becoming Aware of Your State of Mind (The Letters of Christ)
Personal note : After reading three versions of the Letters of Christ, I felt the impulse to share certain excerpts, letting my intuition tell me which version was the most accurate for each sentence. So here is a version restructured through my current level of consciousness (2023).
These are excerpts from Letter 1.

Unless you become like a “child” again with a mind filled with wonder and total faith, getting rid of the useless din of your beliefs, prejudices, resentments, ambitions as well as your selfishness, you will not be able to assimilate these Letters as you should.
To become a “child” again, you must make the effort to strip yourself of all your past mental conditioning.
If you suffer mentally, emotionally or physically, it is only because, whatever your most sincere beliefs, they are of no help to you. They do not contribute to your well-being.
It is time to examine your STATE OF MIND. Are you happy with it?
I wish to make you understand the strength of your state of mind. It is the sum total of all your conscious and unconscious programming.
It is essential that you understand that none of this human state of mind comes from the spiritual dimension. It is totally earthly and probably filled with mythical ideas, prejudices, misunderstandings, resentments, buried memories of old wounds, and habitual methods meant to deal with the ups and downs of life. Your human state of mind (including any religious idea or belief) determines your world, your relationships, your experiences, your successes, your failures, your happiness and your unhappiness. It is even responsible for your ailments, illnesses and accidents.
Nothing happens by chance. Everything is woven from the inner threads of your personal consciousness: your thoughts, your hopes, your expectations, your beliefs about life, about destiny, about “God”. You live in a world of your own creation.
That is why children raised in the same environment become different. Each has their own individual state of mind, built according to their intrinsic character traits.
If, since birth, you had not developed a state of mind, you would be as unconscious as a statue, devoid of feelings, responses and thoughts. You would stare at the world with an empty gaze, and even if there were overflowing activity around you, nothing would affect your consciousness, for you would be devoid of reaction. Nothing would make you happy or unhappy, even if a bomb exploded next to you.
Without a state of mind, there is neither life, nor development, nor good, nor evil.
Your TYPE of state of mind determines the quality of your life. This is the very first Truth of Existence that I wish you to understand and realize in full consciousness.
Moreover, as long as you live, your state of mind does not leave you, wherever you go. You cannot escape it, and day after day, it continues to create for you the living conditions already experienced in your past.
Many people go through their entire lives believing they are unlucky. They are convinced that it is “others” who are petty, mean, unpleasant toward them and who spoil their lives. They believe it is “others” who attack them and constantly create difficulties for them, while they are absolutely innocent of any provocation. On the contrary, “others” are not to blame. It is the personal state of mind that attracts negative circumstances.
Many people reject the idea that they are themselves responsible for their problems. It is harder for some to recognize their shortcomings than it is for those who have the inner strength and self-confidence to look at themselves frankly and honestly.
Also, your emotional patterns can be as harmful to your general well-being as your state of mind.
Your state of mind and your emotional patterns are your tools of creation.
Together, they sketch the outlines of the events, possessions and circumstances of your future life. These TOOLS OF CREATION work in your life, whether you want them to or not.
It is much harder to discover your deeply rooted emotional attitudes, conscious or unconscious, than to recognize your mental conditioning. People can be possessed by negative emotional patterns and be totally unaware of them, since these patterns are permanently covered by the emotions coming from daily routine.
To discover what your emotional patterns really are, ask yourself the following questions, and be entirely honest with yourself. If you try to hide the truth of your emotional patterns from yourself, you are only lying to yourself, disappointing yourself, and preventing yourself from reaching the joy of living in which you are meant to rejoice.
How do you really feel in your LIFE? I would like you to write yourself a letter full of warmth and compassion, telling yourself frankly what you feel by answering the following questions:
Are you happy to be alive, or would you prefer to be able to stop living? If your sincere answer is the second, then you have a negative attitude toward existence and you are deeply at war with yourself. You consciously know that you must continue to live your daily life, but deep down, you would like to leave. This inner war prevents you from attracting to yourself everything you could experience with a positive emotional pattern.
How do you really feel with your loved ones? Is there any buried hostility that you do not want to admit or that you might not be aware of?
How do you feel in your job, with your colleagues, with other ethnic groups?
Write down everything you discover about yourself.
This work, done for yourself, is a benefit to yourself. You are not doing it to become a better person, to please “God”, or to gain the approval of other people. You do this work to remove the inner blockages that prevent your spiritual development and your ultimate happiness.
