Becoming a Master (The Letters of Christ)

Personal note : After reading three versions of the Letters of Christ, I felt the impulse to share certain excerpts, letting my intuition tell me which version was the most accurate for each sentence. So here is a version restructured through my current level of consciousness (2023).

If the first level of development, the search for material satisfactions through positive thinking, were fully satisfying to seekers and brought them everything they hoped for, the whole world today would be converted to belief in “positive thinking”.

However, this is the starting point of the spiritual path of the soul that was asleep, and it must neither be rejected nor criticized. The psyche awakens to the fact that beyond the earthly dimension, there is a spiritual dimension that some call “God”, or a “character sitting up there” or a “universal power” that answers prayers.

Remember that we are talking about “consciousness”. The psyche begins to understand that there is something else in life besides routine and daily pressures, and it wants to experience it “whatever it may be”, because a certain deprivation in one of the areas of existence – health, financial means, happiness, love, etc. – “drives” it to seek help.

Here we see the same magnetic emotional attachment at work: “I want”. However, as the awakening psyche becomes the observer of what happens in the mind and emotions, through its occasional contact with “LIFE CONSCIOUSNESS”, it begins to “see” some of the magnetic emotional activities of “attachment-rejection” in which it habitually engages.

Eventually, it will be enlightened enough to turn away from the feelings of “possessiveness-repulsion”, and will pray for help to overcome them. It is generally at this moment that the Master suited to this soul will enter its life. If the seeking soul has traveled the path of life several times, it will be a Master evolved enough to guide it out of the chains of enslavement to the impulses of the ego, and lead it toward the Light.

Remember, in your approach to others, to be attentive to their “ego”. It is their only means of inner survival, as long as they have not acquired a real and lasting vision of Divine Consciousness, and do not perceive that they have within them – and transcending them – a source of strength, power and inspiration.

You must also realize that by becoming individualized in a bodily form, with emotional and mental activity, you are subject to the laws of existence. You have been given an individuality, an identity and an infinite potential to reach Christic Consciousness, and there is a price to pay for this.

For perhaps many lives (until you are instructed in this rare knowledge of “self”), you will experience the whims and countless complexities of life and relationships. In many past lives, you may have committed outrageous acts, considered by others as “evil incarnate”, but these experiences of magnetic personality will have contributed to bringing you to where you are today in spiritual perception. Consequently, you should be able to accept that there is no “sin”, neither against “God”, nor against others.

The “ego” can have total control and do reprehensible things, only because the “soul” is still asleep and trapped in the heavy spider’s web of the magnetic personality. When this is the case, there is no possibility of persuading that person that they have caused harm to others. There is no inner illumination coming from the Light to show them a better way to live. The Light is entirely blocked by the magnetic consciousness of the ego.

However, the suffering endured by such a person (since everything they do to others will come back to them in the same measure or more), will lead them, as a last resort, to ask questions about existence, and asking questions is the way to receive answers from the “DIVINE-LIFE”.

I began this section by saying that people believe they can be transformed by the “Spirit”. You now understand why I said there was “nothing to transform”. Nothing is “real” or “eternal” in the personality. That is why it is of great necessity to strip it away in order to reveal the Divine within it.

In Palestine, I called this process “dying to oneself”, which turned out to be a frightening statement. Because of it, many people were dissuaded from setting foot on the path leading to the highest spiritual dimensions. And yes, this last stage of the stripping process resembles a death.

In going through it, one sheds an essential part of the human/earthly self, but the relief and inner peace experienced when the struggle finally ends are indescribable. The heart fills with joy. In the silence of the mind reside true security, rest and tranquility. At last, the struggle for personal mastery is over. The person becomes a “master”.

A time of spiritual rest and recovery follows.

Then comes access to a new dimension of “being”. Nothing of the human theater will “matter” as before.

People criticize you? Formerly, the magnetic personality would have led you to get angry because of your insecurity, your impulsive need to appear perfect in the eyes of others, in order to obtain their approval. If they don’t approve of you, your ego said, how will you survive? What will your life look like?

When the voice of the “ego” falls silent, there is no longer any need to seek security, because you are SAFE! You know that you are supported, sustained, nourished, protected, healed by the “DIVINE-LIFE CONSCIOUSNESS”, no matter what others may think of you. Your joy, your contentment, your happiness, your fulfillment and your personal realization are within you. In fact, you simply no longer need anything else.

Except that you are part of “everything else”, and when the Light fills you, you feel an irresistible need to give to others everything the “DIVINE-LIFE CONSCIOUSNESS” pours into you throughout the day, since you are in permanent contact with this wonderful dimension within you.

You no longer reject the personality of others, everyone is acceptable to you, everyone is seeking love, and now you give it in abundance. There is no longer any effort to make to “love unconditionally”. It comes to you spontaneously.

Whatever faults you still have, whatever mistakes you still make in your attitudes toward others, resulting from residues of the “ego” you have abandoned, they are revealed to you, and instead of turning away from this self-awareness, you embrace them with love and gratitude.

You discover that recognizing and accepting the negative human reactions within you is as healthy as it is healing. You joyfully accept and take responsibility for all your mistakes, and at the moment you discern “the way of Love”, you let go.

You will then experience inner peace, knowing that you have once again learned something precious that will be of great help to you when new challenges of the earthly human experience arise. The time of deep remorse is over, since it has now done its work: delivering you from the magnetic emotional responses to life that once brought you suffering.

You have now entered what I called the “Kingdom of Heaven” when I was on Earth. You will discover that all your needs are met, and you will KNOW that all your future needs will also be met almost spontaneously. This knowledge keeps you in constant contact with the “DIVINE LIFE” and gives you an immense sense of security.

With peace of mind and tranquility come joy and happiness, as well as a new feeling of youthful well-being. Minor, chronic, or even terminal illnesses will dissipate and you will enter a new phase of existence. Each time you learn a lesson, you leave something of the human dimension behind, and you advance into a higher frequency of spiritual consciousness.

I am describing the rewards that await you when you have faced the magnetic emotional slavery of “attraction / attachment-rejection / repulsion”. These are the impulses that give you individuality at the outset, but that become chains for the soul from which you must free yourself in order to get off the merry-go-round. This merry-go-round is the time of your current human life, which turns continuously, and which continuously draws you into experiences that do not delight you.

When at last you manage to transcend, in spirit, your magnetic emotional reactions to life, the merry-go-round will begin to slow down, and suddenly, you will discover that you are almost motionless, and you will then begin to experience the beautiful quality of life that I described earlier.
